What a weekend!

So we started 9:30 Friday morning with Alec's 5th grade graduation and awards ceremony. He received the presidential award for academic excellence for having a 4.0 GPA and receiving advanced scores on his MAP testing. He also received the HONOR award from the state of Missouri. "The Award is set up to recognize 14 students—each representing one of the
virtues engraved in the House Chamber that make up the Glory of Missouri."

I am one proud Momma!

At around 10:30am, Brad and Jason had to make their exit to get on the road to Sioux Falls. Michael graduated from Southeast Technical Institute with an AAS degree in Computer Programming on Friday night.
While Brad and Jason were on the road - Alec went with his 5th grade class to Lunar Bowl for an afternoon celebration. They all seemed to have a great time. I went up for a part of the time and took tons of pictures.

Brad and Jason were still on the road when I picked Alec and Marissa up from school. We came home and got Alec packed for his first Boy Scout Camping Trip. We hung around home until around 5:30, went to McD's for a quick bite and then I took him to the church to meet the rest of the campers. We loaded up his stuff in the trailer and I gave him a big hug good bye. My little boy had just graduated elementary school and was now going on a 2 night camping trip with out either of his parents. He was perfectly fine with it. I was the one that had a hard time. And now I was all alone until Sunday.

Meanwhile - Brad and Jason made it to Sioux Falls and to Michael's graduation at 5:00pm. After graduation they went to Michael and Rebekah's house for a little party. Around 8:00 they headed to Taryn and Brady's house to spend the night.

I had a bit of trouble getting to sleep on Friday night in this big ole house all by myself. I kept hearing the wind blowing and I had turned the heater on because it got chilly. All I could think about was my little boy sleeping in a tent in the wind and cold. Anyway - I got some sleep and woke up Saturday morning and did a little housecleaning. I then called Brad to see how everything was in SD. Jason answered and told me that they were going to the hospital because Taryn was in labor! Brady and she had left around 4:00am to go and they kept her. Little Rowan was coming 3 weeks early! I guess he wanted to meet his grandpa! It is great that it worked out that way and Brad and Jason got to be in Sioux Falls when he was born. Lucky ducks! I was so jealous that I wasn't there! And I really was not enjoying being home alone. Rowan Bradley Fritz was born at 12:23pm on Saturday May 14. He weighed 5lbs 12ozs and was 19 1/2 inches long.

I didn't do much on Saturday but get my hair and nails done. I just happened to be getting my hair done when the little guy was born. Brad sent me a text and pictures soon after.
Later that evening - Brad, Jason, Hunter, Michael and Rebekah went to see the movie Thor and I went to visit my mom, dad and sister.

I made it through the second night home alone and was very excited to pick Alec up from his camping trip at 10:30 on Sunday morning. I greeted him with a huge hug. He said that the camping trip was really good. I was so glad to hear he had a good time and so glad to have him back home.

On the way home from picking up Alec - Brad texted to let us know that they were starting home - and that Jason was driving. Jason actually drove about 250 of the 350 miles home!
They made it home safe and sound around 5:00pm. I am so happy to have my little family back where they belong. I missed them very much.

And I am very, very happy for Taryn and Brady. They are starting on the next phase of their life, as parents to a beautiful, healthy baby boy.

It was a very eventful weekend. I am so glad Brad got to celebrate with all 3 of his kids that had big events. It is hard when you have 5 kids and 3 of them have big events, all at the same time, and they live 350 miles apart! But Brad made it to both Alec and Michael's graduations and got to be there for the birth of his grandson. Little Row coming 3 weeks early was quite a surprise and a big bonus for the weekend.

Oh and Taryn was supposed to have her baby shower on Saturday afternoon - but I guess that was postponed!

Well I guess that about covers it!
