Southern California June 2013 - Day 1 - Part 1

Day 1 - Very early flight.  We had to get up at 3:45am.  Left for the airport at 4:15am and still just made it to the gate for 6:15 flight as they started boarding.  KCI is busy on Monday mornings.  We landed at LAX at 7:45am CA time.
We gathered our luggage and rode the shuttle to the car rental place.  Once we got our Dodge Caravan - off we went toward Huntington Beach.  We found our hotel which was actually on Sunset Beach.  We weren't able to check in until 3:00 so we went exploring.  First stop though was breakfast at Woody's.  After filling our bellies we headed toward Hollywood.  We saw stars hand/foot prints at Grauman's Chinese Theatre and we walked up and down Hollywood Blvd looking at the stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and observing all the crazies.
After there we drove up through Hollywood Hills and Mullholland Drive.  We found a great scenic spot with awesome views including the Hollywood Bowl and the Hollywood sign.
